I got into fitness just after I turned sixteen. I’d always been the chubby kid at school and after I finished my GCSE’s I quickly realised I needed to change my fitness levels or suffer the consequences of not being able to live the life I dreamt of. To me, the good job, the beautiful women and everything that surrounds the pair would only materialise if I did something about my weight.
At that time, the gym was a little daunting so I started off with easy cardio. I rode my bike around the local town every day during the summer holidays challenging myself to go further each time. Within the six weeks I lost around three stone of fat which gave me the confidence to start out in the gym. After doing a bit of research, I started to tone my body up and increase my strength by doing some simple weight workouts. By the time I turned nineteen I realised the more effort I put into my fitness the more I would get out of it- the gym bug had well and truly bitten me.
Fast forward six years and my love affair with the gym is still stronger than ever. It’s never something I’ve given up on and I still strive every day to better myself. Going to the gym is my hobby and I still enjoy going every day, I love the communities within them and thrive off the support that is spread by others to help you achieve your goals.
Over the nine years I have been going to the gym I have learnt a huge amount about different workouts, techniques, disciplines and nutrition that accompany a healthy lifestyle and I have created this blog in order to share them with others that are maybe going through the same journey I went through. I don’t have cheese grater abs or a chest the size of Schwarzenegger and I’m not a qualified PT or certified nutritional therapist (so don’t take anything I say by gospel), this is just me, a very normal guy sharing my experiences and knowledge in the hope that it may help you achieve your fitness goals.
I have lots of interesting tips, how to guides and interviews with experts that I’m looking forward to sharing with you so please stay tuned and just bare with me for a while, I’m just as new to this blogging stuff as you are. For now, have a little read of my first post here, I would love to hear your feedback and if you have any ideas or questions don’t be afraid to drop me a message below!
See you in a bit,
Andy.
